BuzzCopper – A cheap Asian Hornet Detector

Jon Semple took a degree in Engineering and then spent most of his career developing IT systems for both private and public sector clients.  He retired after 15 years running his own software consultancy to spend more time doing his own projects.

After hearing a BBC news report on Asian Hornets he was inspired to try building a detector.  2.5 years later, and after successful trials in 2025, BuzzCopper is nearing production.  Jon is not a beekeeper!

The first 70 prototypes are currently being field tested by volunteers in SE England.  Come along to hear all about this device and see one for yourself.
