The site can also be used to book visits to the association apiary in available slots.

Bee Disease Insurance (BDI)

Bee Diseases Insurance Ltd. is set up and run by beekeepers for beekeepers, owned by Member Beekeeping Associations and offers some financial compensation for the replacement cost of any hive parts that need to be destroyed following the discovery of a notifiable disease. All members of HWBKA are members and the minimum £2 premium is included in Individual and Family Membership subscriptions.

It is important to pay additional premiums as necessary to insure all hives containing bees regardless of size of the colony and allowing for increase through the season.

Beecraft Magazine

Beecraft is owned by UK Beekeeping Associations and run by a team of Directors and Consultants who put together an informative, readable monthly magazine, and publish information for beekeepers in a variety of forms. Paper and digital copies are available there are examples to view on the website; HWBKA offers members a reduced subscription rate. Subscriptions run from Jan-Dec, to catch first edition this must be paid by end of November.

Beekeepers Quarterly Journal

Beekeepers Quarterly is a 64 page full-colour journal with in-depth articles on a wide range of topics from around the beekeeping world. It is seen as essential reading for the keenest beekeepers; sample copy on the website.

HWBKA offers members a reduced subscription rate; we hope to keep up the group subscription again this year.
